Appellate Case No. 02-12-00370, In re W.H. (2nd Dist. Ft. Worth, 2012) Pet. Denied.

September 2012

This case involved the parents fighting over custody and visitation of their children.  At the trial court level, Ms. Parker represented the Mother who asked for restricted and supervised visitation for Father.  The Trial Court ordered Father to attend counseling and pay child support.  Father did not attend counseling as ordered.  Ms. Parker brought an enforcement action against Father for violating the Trial Court's orders.  The Trial Court agreed and ordered Father to jail.

Father appealed the decision.  Ms. Parker represented Mother in the appeal.  The Court of Appeals affirmed the Trial Court's decision, finding that a failure to attend counseling as court ordered is contemptible and granted Mother's request for attorney fees and costs.

Father appealed to the Texas Supreme Court for his release from jail.  The Supreme Court of Texas denied his petition.  Father served out his jail sentence.
